THE FULL-DAY HELMSMAN COURSE

Proper training is a great benefit and is essential for some insurance and continental boating. We are an accredited NYA Training Establishment, with our own in-house RYA Instructor.

We strongly encourage all our owners to take the full-day helmsman course. The Helmsman Course will instruct both newcomers and more experienced boaters in the principles of better and safer boating.

On completion, students will receive the RYA's Inland Waterways Helmsman's Certificate. At the same time they can also take the written test for the RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC) known as CEVNI which is now a legal necessity in many parts of Europe. A copy of the RYA Inland Waterways Handbook is included in the cost of the Helmsman's Course and is used during the training.
Normally the course is conducted using your own boat and is specifically tailored. However we can make a boat available for those who want to take up training before buying a boat
