Big Haines interest from London boat show.
The ripples continue to spread out from the superb reaction to the latest Haines 400 at the London Boat Show. While the stunning 400 was the star at the show, there is interest across the range, particularly in the Sedan models at the moment.
Haines are widely acknowledged for superb design and high standards of construction and finish. However, potential buyers doing their sums at the show found that this quality comes with a competitive price tag. It has not gone unnoticed that you get more boat for your money and several prospects are looking at bigger boats than they thought they could afford.

A great London boat show – hard work pays
We’re now back home after a week’s hard work, having seen many old friends, made a lot of new contacts and set some promising deals in motion – including some part exchanges and a boat potentially on its way to China.
With two used boats and a new Haines on display, the NYA service team had their hands full preparing for the Show. Even though high winds delayed the launch of the used boats until 9.30 on the first morning, Mark and his team did a thoroughly professional job in preparing the boats to an exceptional standard. It makes a difference: many clients queried the age of both used boats, several simply refusing to believe their vintage. Well done boys, you did us proud!
With our emerging role as the UK’s leading specialists in used Brooms, it was great to welcome Jason Boast aboard our Broom 41 to offer guidance and advice to the viewing public at the show. Broom owners will know Jason from his many years with the boat builder, most recently heading up their brokerage sales division until it's recent closure. Jason's near limitless, first-hand knowledge of Broom models and their characteristics, gathered over thousands of sea miles, is legendary among owners. His services as a delivery skipper are also still very much in demand.
Meanwhile at home it was business as usual, with our sales team securing no less than five deals during the show. So it was hard work for everyone.
New faces at NYA
We’ve added two new people to increase customer service at NYA. Louise Wilkinson joins as PA to James Fraser. Many customers will know Louise from her 16 years at Broom Boats. As well as keeping James in order, she will be handling the newsletters and emails that keep customers up to date.
Also joining from Broom is Garry Wright who will be helping to prepare boats for sale to the high standard that’s expected from NYA.
At the same time, we bid farewell and wish good luck to Dan Money who has decided to sell houses instead of boats.
Olympic berths in Weymouth harbour
Applications for booking visitor berthing in Weymouth and anchorage in Weymouth Bay during the sailing events of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are now open.
All berths and anchorages between 16 July and 9 September 2012 must be pre booked. All requests for bookings now received are being held and will be allocated after 5 February with confirmation promised no later than 1 March for those who have been successful at securing a berth.
