A yacht moored up called 'Boudicca'

10 August 2022

Sarah, Robert and ‘Boudicca’

We absolutely love to keep in touch with our clients and hear all about their adventures in their new yachts.

Back in March 2022, Sarah and Robert Lomax took delivery of ‘Boudicca,’ a new Haines 32 Offshore. Having spent a few weeks getting to know her in the safety of the broads, they set off towards their intended home berth at Wolverstone Marina on the River Orwell.

‘Boudica’

The initial leg took them out through Great Yarmouth Harbour, down the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline and into Southwold, renowned for its quaint seaside town home of Adnams Brewery and Gin Distillery.

Sarah told us about their day on Boudicca. “The moon was still out when we started skipping moorings and with the early morning mist and bird life it was quite ethereal. Fortunately, the mist had cleared by the time we got to Yarmouth. Boudicca motored along the becalmed sea very well and we did a good mooring at Southwold.”

‘Misty Mornings in Southwold’

After washing off the Sharan dust from those blustery couple of days we had, Sarah and Robert enjoyed bikes, fish and chips with family and said it felt like they were starting to get back into their stride after a long hiatus without a boat/Covid restrictions.

On the second passage of their journey from Southwold to Wolverstone, the couple enjoyed even more sunrises and sunsets accompanied with some more gentle blankets of mist.

Sarah reported: “Had a lovely smooth motor to the Deben today. We haven’t been in this river since July 2020 and are so happy to be back.”

They gave us a little insight into the Haines 32, saying “We are really loving being in a 360 degree glasshouse. The views are stunning in every direction and the blinds come in really handy at times! All the while we are gaining confidence. Hoping to pump the dinghy up tomorrow and head ashore for a walk along the beach before heading up river later with the tide.”

‘Watching the sun setting over Southwold from Boudicca’

Sarah and Robert have plans to return to the Broads and are mooring with NYA to cruise over the winter months. We very much look forward to catching up with them in person, and to learn more about where Boudicca has taken them.

The whole team at NYA would like to thank Sarah and Robert for providing us with such beautiful photos, and graciously allowing us a little peep into their exciting adventures.
