Accommodation

The semi displacement hull on the 38 was designed by Andrew Wolstenholme to be equally at home at sea or on the inland waterways. There is a good size keel which protects the rudders and propellors, which results in effortless slow speed handling.
As is typical for the Broom range, the 38 is spacious with a large aft cabin with en suite toilet and separate shower stall, stepping up into the saloon is bright and light with ample seating to starboard, moving forward there is a useful dinette to port with a large galley opposite to starboard. The forward cabin contains V-berth which provide comfortable accommodation for any guests, with a second day toilet to starboard. An added bonus found in the saloon is the versatile sliding door to port.

Available as a single engine (135hp Perkins Sabre) or twin (Volvo/Yanmar/Mercruiser) the 38 proved to be a very popular model at the time. Now as boat buyers, we benefit from having some excellent used examples on the market. The later models of the Ocean 38 are known as CLs
