Chris Stones further expands his skill set

Chris has certainly been keen to advance his career since joining our Service Department in 2008.  Having started with us as a Valeter/Finisher he immediately impressed with his attention to detail and willingness to learn.  His interest in the oily side of things lead him to undertake a Marine Engineering NVQ with Great Yarmouth College.

With this under his belt, he was appointed to carry out the detailed task of pre-delivery inspections on our used stock boats.  He has subsequently completed a pneumatics & hydraulics NVQ (Level 2) and most recently he has attended the Lowestoft Boat Building Training College to undertake a GRP Course.  This covered moulding & GRP repairs and trained Chris in how to repair everything from small chips to big holes in GRP boats.

We put his new skills to good use on his return, having removed some unwanted davits from a boat, we set Chris the task of removing any sign of them.

The result – where – were – they?  Well done Chris.

Can we help you with any boat repairs? Get in touch on 01603 713434 or send us an email at boats@nya.co.uk
