The morning of the 25th of June dawned with bright sunshine and a light westerly breeze. The 9 strong fleet of boats were assembled at Reedham Ferry having dined there the night before and being briefed by James on the days passage.
The conditions for the North Sea crossing were about as good as you could hope for us as the fleet romped across the 105 miles of North Sea at around 22 knots. By around 1600hrs the fleet arrived in Ijmuiden and moored in Seaport Marina for the night. We enjoyed a meal together and a glass or two in the Yacht Club before retiring.

From here we moved on to Hoorn followed by Lelystad & then Monnickendam before heading back to Ijmuiden ready for the passage back to Great Yarmouth. We picked a weather window on Monday morning, leaving at 0800hrs. There was a residual swell as we left but it was not uncomfortable at 18 knots. Conditions improved as we travelled west and by half way, we were up to 22 knots in the sunshine, arriving in good time for our 1315hrs Haven Bridge lift.
A very sociable cruise in a fabulous cruising ground that deserves more than a week. It left us all wanting to come back soon.
