Southwold Cruise – April 2026
Our plan had been to visit Lowestoft first and then on to Southwold for a couple of days before heading back to Great Yarmouth. The weather forecast caused us to change to Southwold first for a couple of days and then back to Lowestoft.
We met at Berney Arms for a skippers brief and discussed the weather and the conditions we expected. The Yarmouth bridges all opened on time and once at sea the weather was fair with a brisk South Westerly giving half a metre of swell. No one had any issues on the first run of our season and an hour later we were all rafting together in Southwold and looking forward to a beer or two and fish & chips in the Harbour Inn.
Day 2 was relaxing and walking for most and all 35 of us met in the Anchor Inn, Walberswick for a great meal.
We departed the following day and made our way to the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk @ Lowestoft. We had a very pleasant evening with much laughter and a good meal.
After a good nights sleep we departed Lowestoft and had a slow run back to Great Yarmouth and the Broads.
